Activation King Review 2026: The Claims, the Real Bill, and When to Pick It Anyway
We are a direct competitor. Every statement below is quoted from Activation King’s public pricing page, homepage, blog or app store listing, checked in September 2026, so you can verify each one in two minutes. Prices are promo prices where the vendor shows a promo; regular prices are given next to them.
Activation King is the vendor with the most booth modes in one app, the lowest credit price in the market, and a blog post titled “Honest Guide” that ranks itself number one. Two of those three are true. This review checks the third, then does the arithmetic the guide leaves out.
What Activation King is
AI Photo Booth Pro by Activation King LLC (Sheridan, Wyoming) runs 12 booth modes on Windows, Mac, iPad and Android: classic photo, GIF and boomerang, 360, GlamBot-style slow motion, mirror, green screen, video booth, mosaic wall, drawing screen and more, with cloud sync, a template editor, lead capture, remote printing and Stripe Terminal tap-to-pay. The AI layer adds effects, face swap and AI video. The company also sells a 32-inch booth from $8,500, a drawing screen and a mosaic wall as separate subscriptions from $269 a month.

Yearly: $499, $699 and $1,499. Credits are sold separately at $25 per 1,000 ($24.99 in the App Store), never expire, and no plan includes any. The trial is 14 days, no card, 100 credits, “Trial outputs are watermarked”.

The 300-photo bill
Take a normal brand activation, 300 AI photos in a month, on the Pro AI plan.
- On a current model at 1K (10 credits): 3,000 credits, $75, plus the plan: $154 promo, $174 regular.
- On Nano Banana Pro at 4K (42 credits): 12,600 credits, $315, plus the plan: $394 promo, $414 regular.
- Add 60 AI videos at 30 to 60 credits: another $45 to $90.
Face swap is the exception. At 1 credit per face, an event that only runs face swap is cheap on Activation King, cheaper than anywhere else. The moment guests touch a current-model effect, the price per photo goes from $0.025 to $0.25, and the vendor’s sticker never tells you.
For comparison, the same 300 photos on AI Photobooth are inside the €99 plan, on Nano Banana Pro or GPT Image 2.5, at 1K or 2K, with photo 301 at €0.33.

We are not calling any single number false; we are saying that a buyer cannot verify one of them, and that the ones that can be checked against the vendor’s own site do not match. Weight the ranking accordingly.
Where Activation King genuinely wins
- Booth modes. Twelve in one app, including 360, mirror, GlamBot arm, mosaic wall and drawing screen. Nobody else in the market bundles that many, and rental operators with mixed hardware will feel it.
- Four operating systems. Windows, Mac, iPad and Android from one subscription, two devices each.
- Face swap at 1 credit. For a face-swap-only event, the cheapest option we know of.
- Credits never expire. Buy once, use over a season.
- Tap-to-pay at the booth through Stripe Terminal, and remote printing.
If your business is 360 and mirror rentals with an occasional face swap, Activation King is a reasonable pick, and you should budget it as $79 to $99 a month plus $0.025 to $1.05 per AI photo, not as “$49”.
Where it loses
- The real price per photo, 6 to 42 credits on effects, visible only after signup.
- Zero credits included on every plan.
- No real-time video, no virtual try-on, no product placement, no singing photos. AI here means effects, face swap and rendered clips.
- Trial photos are watermarked, and 100 trial credits is 2 to 16 photos depending on the model.
- Extra devices priced on request; SMS runs on your own Twilio account.
- No VAT line at checkout for an EU address in our test, so a European business gets a net USD charge and an invoice question for its accountant.
- English-first. The homepage says 11 languages; the booth experience for a Lithuanian or Greek guest is not something we could test.

It ranks the author first, quotes the author’s price from the plan without AI, gives competitors adjectives instead of numbers, and cites a review count that does not appear on the author’s own homepage or App Store listing.
